This house in the centre of the Lisighus district of Wildhaus bears witness to a long bygone age. It was built in the mid-15th century by the reformer’s grandfather. Despite a number of changes, its basic structure has been preserved to this day. A host of interesting features are waiting to be discovered inside, such as the Late Gothic carved beam ceiling in the parlour (which also served as the office for local officials), the open fireplace in the kitchen and an original poor box from the Grossmünster church in Zurich.
Today Zwingli house belongs to the St. Gallen Canton Church, which opens it to visitors from around the world.
